60mm AC Servo Motor: 200–600W for Packaging and Light Automation
The 60mm servo motor is a small permanent-magnet AC servo on a 60 mm (NEMA 24) flange, the workhorse size for light industrial motion. It runs 0.2 to 0.6 kW with 0.64 to 1.91 N·m of rated torque and three times that as peak, on a 220V supply, and turns at up to 3000 rpm. It runs closed-loop on a 17-bit absolute encoder, so the axis knows its position on power-up and holds it under load. The 400W model is the common pick, which is why this frame sits on packaging lines, labelers, small CNC and pick-and-place.
Where the 60mm Servo Fits
The 60 frame is the small end of industrial servos — light, fast and precise, for axes that move modest load at speed:
- 0.2 to 0.6 kW and up to about 2 N·m — the 400W class most small machines use.
- 17-bit absolute encoder — no homing routine, the axis keeps position through power cycles.
- Compact 60 mm frame — fits tight machine layouts and multi-axis packaging heads.
- 220V mains, IP65 sealing and Class F insulation for the factory floor.
Choosing 200W, 400W or 600W
All three share the 60 mm frame and the absolute encoder; they differ in power, torque and top speed. The 200W and 400W run to 3000 rpm for fast axes; the 600W trades top speed for more torque at 2000 rpm. The 400W is the usual choice for general packaging and small-machine axes.
| Model | Power | Rated Torque | Best Fit |
|---|
| 60BSF-S02030 | 200 W | 0.64 N·m | Light, fast axes — labeling, small pick-and-place |
| 60BSF-S04030 | 400 W | 1.27 N·m | The common pick — packaging, small CNC, feeders |
| 60BSF-S06030 | 600 W | 1.91 N·m | More torque in the 60 frame — small machine axes |
Not sure which fits? Send the axis load and running speed and we will confirm the model. For lighter, sub-100W axes, the 40mm servo motor is the smaller frame.
Typical Applications
The 60mm servo suits light, fast, precise axes across small machines:
- Packaging, filling and cartoning machinery — fast, repeatable indexing.
- Labeling and print-and-apply heads — precise placement at line speed.
- Small CNC, engraving and marking — accurate feed on compact machines.
- Pick-and-place, feeders and sorters — quick moves with absolute feedback.
- Conveyors, small gantries and X-Y tables — controlled motion in a small frame.
- Lab, medical and semiconductor handling — smooth, quiet, accurate motion.
Drive and Customization
Each 60mm servo ships with a matched servo drive, sized and tuned to the motor as a tested set, so commutation, gain and inertia matching are set before delivery. The drive runs position, speed and torque modes, with pulse and direction or bus communication depending on the model. Common changes: shaft diameter, length and keyway to your drawing, a power-off holding brake for vertical axes, a planetary gearbox, and connector and cable to suit. As a servo motor manufacturer, we test the motor and drive together and ship the encoder built in.
